The Italians were pretty modernized in the olden days. First because they were one of the first people who developed the opera and theatres. Second because they use the scales, harmony, notation, and theatres made the change Italian opera. Not only was the opera developed in Italy but also the medieval and renaissance music started in Italy. Medieval music is European music that was written during the middle ages. The medieval use many and different kinds of instruments for example the Harp - The harp was and instrument favored by troubadours, about 30 inches in length. The Fiddle - Fiddles were played with a bow or plucked and usually held under the chin or in the crook of the arm. The Rebec - The Rebec was an instrument with a round pear-shaped body. The Psaltery - The Psaltery was a cross between a harp and a guitar .The Dulcimer - The Dulcimer was played by striking the strings with hammers. There were many more instruments that were used in this time period. After all Italian music is one of the best music in the world.
